A/W' 18 Trends

Autumn/Winter 2018 Trends

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. I hope you are all doing well and looking foward to the weekend ahead. Today I have a very exciting post for you all and that is the A/W '18 fashion trends. As we are currently in the changeover season between Summer and Autumn I thought what better way to get you all excited about the upcoming season than to introduce you all to the trends. We are starting to see some of these trends emerging on the high street already so I thought it was a perfect time to do this post.

I dont know about you but I am totally over the summer now and want to start getting cosy again. Autumn is differently my favourite time of year in terms of fashion as I love styling up boots and cosy dresses. My favourite items in the Autumn/Winter is defiantly a pair of black suede boots, a black turtle neck jumper and a cute a-line skirt. If you would like me to do a blog post all about my top Autumn/Winter essentials then let me know in the comment section below. I hope you like this post and get some inspiration. Enjoy...

It's all about the crazy animal prints this season. Whether thats, snake skin, leopard print or even zebra print; you need to head to the zoo for style inspiration this season. This trend is very convaverial as we previously associated animal prints with tacky, cheap fashion but it's making a stand for itself this season. Why not try out the trend with a pair of snake skin shoes or a leopard print bag. If you are brave enough why not go head-to-toe animal print instead. You could even try mixing the prints or try then in different colours for a unique look...

Why not try these:
River Island - £65
New Look - £24.99
Topshop - £29
Boohoo - £18
ASOS - £25
ASOS - £35

With a hint from the 70s it's all about the earthy tones and Western vibes this Autumn/winter. Whether you choose to go head-to-toe Western with the earthy suedes and prairie girl dresses or simple use a nod to the 70s as your starting point, we all need to jump on this trend. The great thing about this trend is the colour palette. Earthy colours are so easy to style and it gives you that cosy winter feel...

Why not try these:

New Look - £34.99

Pleats are no longer just for school.  This season you will see them everywhere: on skirts, trousers, tops and even bags. Slowly but surly pleats have been coming back into fashion. We have seen a lot of pleated midi skirts in the last few years but this year they have exploded into our shops. We are seeing them everywhere! Whether that be a pair of simple black pleated trousers or a brightly coloured pleated skirt. You definitely need to get onto this trend as you can't go wrong...

Why not try these:
H&M - £34.99
Missguided - £15
ASOS - £25
Pretty Little Thing - £35
Missguided - £25
ASOS - £15

This next trend isn't for the faint-hearted. The bolder and brighter the pattern the better. This season we are welcoming the silk trend. Whether you choose to go for a simple silk scarf or head-to-toe silk you need to invest this season. In you can't afford to invest in the real thing then why not try satin instead. It's a cheaper alternative and still gives you the same luxurious vibe. Simply think bright bold patterns and granny florals and you will nail it...

Why not try these:
H&M - £6.99
Missguided - £25
ASOS - £35
Topshop - £50
Topshop - £39

Logos have been a big thing in the fashion industry for a long time but mostly on bags and accessories. We have never really been fussed about logos plastered on clothing until now. The designers have been busy showing off their designs by printing their brand logos onto their designs. It may be a bit harder to follow this trend on the high street but I have found a few item for you. If they are still out of your price point you could simply go for graphic Ts and jumpers instead...

Why not try these:
Missguided - £12
Topshop - £18
Urban Outfitters - £30
River Island - £20
Urban Outfitters - £90

This next trend may seem a bit weird but practical at the same time. This season it's all about layering multiple jumpers and coats on top of one other. While this trend is a bit odd it means that we will be super warm and cosy in the mid winter blizzards. You can have fun and play around with patterns, colours and textures for this trend to create multiple looks. I haven't linked any items for this trend as it's down to you to play around with your current coat collection and see what you come up with...

Leather Dress:
As we all know the Autumn/Winter is about the textures. This season we are welcoming one particular fabric an thats leather (faux or real). Whether you want to invest in the real deal or be more ethical and buy faux leather it's up to you. It's not just plain black leather dresses that are popular either. Play around with the colours and have fun. Try going for more earthy tones to fit with the Western trend or why not even go all out with a stunning red leather evening dress. It's all about playing around and having fun...

Capes:
The next trend is all about the cute, cosy, comfortable capes. Wrapping up warm has never been so stylish. Whether you want to go for a short structured cape or long asymmetric one, anything will work. Play around with the colours and patterns as well and you will never want to wear anything else this season...

Tweed:
The final trend this season is Tweed. It's all about embracing those Chanel vibes and going head-to-toe tweed. You will be seeing tweed everywhere. Tweed skirts, tweed dresses, tweed jackets, you name it. We are already seeing it everywhere on the high street as they try to embrace those designer vibes. Don't be boring either; chose crazy colours and patterns and make your tweed look stand out from the rest...

Why not try these:
Zara - £29.99
Zara - £89.99
Shein - £14.99
Shein - £11.99
Shein - £12.99 (Sale)
Shein - £17.99

So thats all the up coming trends this Autumn/Winter. I hope you enjoyed this post and it gave you some insight into whats going to be in the stores this season. I don't know about you but I'm super excited to start styling up these trends and see which one is my favourite. Let me know which one is your favourite below and which ones you won't be trying out. If you want to see more posts like this then make sure you head back to my blog every Friday. You can also head back to my blog every Wednesday to see outfit styling posts from me.
