Vinted

Are you in need of some new clothes but on a budget?
Wanna shop for brands all in one place?

Well then... you have come to the right place! I have an amazing app to share with you, one that has been a favourite of mine for many months now. Being a student and only having a small income is hard to shop all the time. However, being a fashion lover and a previous fashion student I want to stay on trend and have plenty of outfit options in my wardrobe. Shopping regular on the high street can be a real issue as I have to budget my shops, meaning a lot of beautiful pieces have to be left in the stores (the worst feeling ever!). I wanted a way to stay on trend, have a full wardrobe with lots of options but also earn a bit of money at the same time.

This is where Vinted caught my eye...

Setting up:
Vinted is a buying and selling clothing app. You can download it on your phone or use it on the internet. Simply go to the app store or your web browser and type in 'Vinted'. It should then bring up an app with a white dress inside a blue speech bubble:

Vinted App

Once the app has downloaded you simply have to create an account, add your card details and then customise your shopping profile (put in your sizes) and your ready to shop. Please feel free to follow me and check out the clothing items I have for sale.

My Profile

Selecting my sizes

Purchasing Items:
Once your account is all set up and your have selected your sizes, you can then start searching for items, following other Vinties (name used for other Vinted users, it's like a community), have a browse and then shop, shop, shop!

If you spot an item that you like but don't want to buy it straight away; you can favourite the item and save it for when you are ready to buy (but remember there is only one item so be quick). When you find items you like you can click on them and it brings up more information on the item. You can see more pictures of the item, the size and price of the item and a brief description. It will also tell you if the item is brand new or used (if used it will tell you the condition it is in) and it also has the shipping cost. You also have the option to message the seller about any questions you may have about the item. You can also make offers on items to get them cheaper (some people except, others don't but its worth a try) and you have to option to meet up with the seller to exchange item/money if you live near them to save on shipping costs and time.

Selling Items:
I know we all love to shop and get a good bargain but we need the money to do so. Vinted isn't all about the shopping it's a way for you to sell items you no longer want to give them a new, loving home. When you are ready to sell a item you simply click the plus button (+) on the bottom of the screen and it will take you to a page where you simply fill in the details of your items. Once you have filled out all the boxes and clicked save, the item will be on your profile for people to buy. People may send you offers for the item (just like you can do to other people, now it's up to you whether you want to accept or decline). If you think the offer is too low for the item can decline and offer them a new price slightly higher than their offer but cheaper that what you originally put it up for. Then it's up to them whether they want to go ahead and buy it or not.

Item information

Shipping an item:
CONGRATULATIONS! You sold your first item! When you sell an item you have to package up the item securely, add the address onto it and take it to the post office to be shipped to the buyer. You have a week to ship the item or the purchase gets cancelled and the money will be refunded to the buyer. Make sure to mark the item as shipped once you have posted it to stop this from happening. Simply go to your messages, click on the correct message for the item and click the button at the bottom of the chat saying 'Mark as Posted'. Once the buyer has received the item they will need to mark it as received and give you feedback on the item and your service. It will also ask you to give feedback on the buyer too. Once the buyer has confirmed everything is fine with the item you will received your money. It will go into your Vinted balance ready for a item you decided to purchased on the app or you can transfer it to your bank account.

Other Information:
If you find yourself liking a particular Vinties wardrobe give them a follow and use the 'Bundle' option to buy more than one of their items at the same time. The buyer can set discount offers such as: 10% off when you buy 2 items. So... say both items you like are £10 each, the total cost would be £20. However, with the bundle option you would get 10% off the total price making it £18 for both the items instead. The items MUST be from the same buyer though for the bundle option to work.

Bundle Discount Option
Another great feature is the holiday mode. When you go away you don't want people to be buying your items as you wont be there to ship. This would mean the order will be cancelled and you will get negative feedback. However, all you have to do is switch on holiday mode and your items will be hidden from everyone so they can't buy them. Then as soon as you return home you can switch it off and everybody can view and buy you items again. It's as simple as a click of a button.

Holiday Mode

Another thing to remember is you don't have to have money in your Vinted account to buy an item. If you don't have enough money in it or have nothing at all, the money will come out of your bank account instead (the one you added to the app when setting it up.

My Experience:
I have been using this app for over a year now and it's not hard to say that I LOVE it! It's so easy to use and you can really find some amazing bargains. I have probably purchased over 30 items off this app and sold a good 20. Throughout my time on Vinted I have only had a few issues. A couple of my items were never shipped so I had to get a refund. However, I never checked the sellers reviews beforehand (I would recommend doing this to see if you can trust the Vintie) as they both had a few bad reviews from not shipping out items. Another thing to look out for is when the seller last logged in to the app. If it was months before you go to buy the item the chances are they wont see you have brought the item so wont ship it out to you. Apart from that, I have had great experiences and have gained many amazing items from this app. Although some items didn't fit me when I received them (returns aren't accepted on app)it was easy enough to upload them onto my profile for other people to buy.

So I think that's all you need to know about the app. It really is a life saver when it comes to being a student or on a budget. You can get super stylish and on-trend pieces for amazing prices. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a way of saving money but still want to buy new clothes. Let me know how you get on...

Recently Purchased Items

Do you love shopping as much as I do?
Are you in need of some fashion inspiration?

As mentioned in my last post - Primark Haul (you should go check it out) I recently took a shopping trip and came home with rather a lot of items. I wanted to showcase the gorgeous pieces I picked up so you can go check them out yourself.

As we all know the pin-stripped short has been around for many years. However, this season pin-strips are everywhere. Do you want to be on trend this season? All you have to do is simply chuck on pin-striped anything and your good to go. I found this adorable pin-striped shirt in Quiz and couldn't resits getting it. I loved how feminine this shirt looked as the traditional pin-stripped shirt can be quite masculine and doesn't fit in with my style. I am also a real sucker for embroidery so this shirt ticked all the boxes.

Dusky Pink Dress:
This super cute dress really caught my eye when I was shopping. I have been on the look out for an everyday summer dress for a while now and I think I may have finally found it. This dress was originally £40 but I snatched it up for £20 in the sale. What a bargain!

I told you pin-strips were everywhere this season. I picked up another pin-stripped blouse from Cameo Rose at New Look. This blouse is so soft and a beautiful addition to my wardrobe.

I instantly fell in love with this beautiful skirt. It really reminds me of a little Chinese dress I had when I was younger. The print on this skirt is amazing and the fabric is incredible. I think this skirt looks like it could be a designer piece. What do you think?

I was in need of some basic denim shorts. I found these simple dark blue denim shorts in New Look. They fit perfectly and give me more elongated legs (which I defiantly need, let me tell you).

Distressed Denim Shorts:
Again I just needed some denim shorts to wear in the summer and on holiday. I found this distressed pair which give off a super casual vibe, perfect for a summer holiday.

Coral Bikini:
As my holiday is fast approaching I needed to buy some bikini's. I found this super cute one in F&F at Tesco. It was a real bargain and perfect for a beach holiday. That bright coral colour is bound to make my tan pop!

Baby Pink Bikini:
Baby pink is my favourite colour so when I saw this I had to get it. It's such a girly bikini and it's super flattering. I love the beading detail as it adds a cute little detail to the simple bikini.

Wooh... Finally I got through all the items I brought on my shopping trip. My bank balance is now non-existent but my wardrobe is full so that's all that matters, right?

Primark Haul

Do you hate parting with your money but love to shop?
Are you in need of some new clothes?
Or just want an excuse to go shopping?

Well then, you have come to the right place!

I recently took a little (well... maybe quite a big) shopping trip to Primark (and many more shops. Stay tuned for another haul post!)where I picked up a few items for a real bargain! I know many people think Primark is a cheap shop that sells terrible quality items. Don't get me wrong some things in that shop aren't worth the money but you can find some really lovely pieces in there for an amazing price. I was so excited to find an item that is £60 in River Island but only £25 in Primark! I recon you wouldn't even be able to tell the different between them!

Right so here are the amazing bargains I have for you...

Suede Jacket:
This is the item I was talking about. This jacket can be found in River Island for £60! Don't bother spending your money on that one when you can spend over half the price on the Primark version. It's amazing quality and a stunning addition to my wardrobe.

£25

£25
Sheer Vest:
This item was truly a real bargain. I found it in the sale section for £3! I thought this top would be perfect for my sunny holiday coming up and for summer days in England (if we actually have a sunny summer that is). This super cute top could be dressed up or dressed down and would go with many things in my wardrobe.

£3

£3

Distressed Jeans
These jeans are stunning and fit amazingly. I've only ever brought one pair of jeans from Primark and I wasn't too keen on them. I was interested in trying another pair as jeans are super expensive these days. As soon as I tried the jeans on I fell in love. The only thing I would say is size down as they are made from a stretchy fabric. I am usually a size 6 in jeans but had to go for a size 4 which fit me perfectly.

£13

£13

Wide Leg Trousers:
I have been looking for a pair of wide leg trousers for months but haven't been able to find the right pair. They have either been too long, too short, unflattering or see-through. I never through I would find the perfect pair in Primark! They fit perfectly, are the perfect length and the fabric isn't see-though either which is quite surprising for Primark but I'm not complaining. I love the way they hang and float around when you walk; for £13 these trousers are amazing!

Pink Suede Mules:
I am in love with these shoes, they are truly stunning. These were also in the sale for £3! How could I leave them in the store? At first I was hesitant in buying them as I didn't know whether they would be comfortable. Well.. I wore them all day the other day walking around and they are the comfiest shoes ever! It even shucked it down with rain and they survived perfectly.

£3

£3
Gold Metallic Sliders:
These shoes are so comfy and look super stylish. I brought these shoes for my holiday as I though they would be super easy to just throw on and go down to the pool. As they are made from a metallic fabric I feel that they look much more stylish than a regular pair of sliders and I defiantly think they look more expensive than they actually are too.

£6

£6
Flower Sandals:
These sandals are super cute and so comfortable when you walk due to the soft spongy sole. They are a super affordable but also a super cute holiday sandal.

So that's all my Primark buys...

Coming soon will be the rest of the items I brought on my shopping trip. I hope you love the items I picked up as much as I do and have been inspired to take your own little trip to Primark.

Happy shopping everyone...

Missguided Purchases

Shopping is one of my favourite hobbies.

Very cliché I know, but also very true I have to admit. However, I do prefer the traditional day trip version appose to a quick online shop. I always find it hard to pick the right size and shape for my body type, as it's constantly changing, so going into stores and trying on items is a much easier way of shopping for me. I am also one of those people that plans a shopping trip for weeks and gets overly excited about it. It's just something about getting out and about, visiting different places and spending the time browsing through every single item in the store to find the perfect ones.

Anyway, back to the point of this post... Online shopping. As I said I normally find it difficult to shop online as I don't know what sizes and styles will suit me. However, recently I was sat at home bored (as usual) and decided to do a little browsing (that's all it was meant to be) on the Missguided website. Now I have never actually purchased anything off Missguided before so I was a bit stuck on what size to go for. However, I actually managed to pick the right sizes for everything (I am very pleased with myself) and pick styles that suited me. I also managed to get 25% off! I do love a good bargain.

So after getting excited about the discount I went ahead and clicked the deadly purchased button and my order was made. A few days later my package arrived and my new purchased were officially part of my wardrobe. Now I bet you all want to know what I got right? Well, here they are...

All the items I purchased are great quality and super affordable. I would definitely recommend each one of these items as they have made a great addition to my wardrobe. I would also recommend checking out the Missguided website, if you haven't already, as they have all the styles you could ask for. It's a great place to shop for many different occasions and you will defiantly find something you like, Trust me! I could have brought so much more.

If you are interested in any of the items I purchased or other items on the website, you can use the code: UNI0AFY58E78 at the checkout to get 20% off your order. Go on you know you want to!

Enjoy your online shopping spree...
