In our society today people are very judgmental of what we wear. People tend to judge others on their appearance rather than their personality. Some people would even admit that they don't like having 'unfashionable' or 'ugly' friends as they will get judged from others. This is especially popular in high schools and colleges. Other people say they like to make friends with less wealthy or 'uglier' people to make themselves feels better about themselves. If you ever feel like this, you should remember to always surround yourself with people who make you happy for a good reason. Every single one of you is beautiful in your own way and has a unique sense of style.
If you ask different people you know their idea of beauty not one of them will give the exact same answer. Try it and see what they say... This is why many girls find it hard to fit in and feel beautiful as they are always going to get judged from someone. You can't please everyone with your style girls so do what makes you truly happy and feel beautiful in yourself.
Fashion lovers out there will know how much we love to dress up all the time. Personally I love wearing skirts, dresses and boots on an everyday basis. This is my personal style and what makes me feel good about myself. I don't wear these things to get attention or looks from others. It's really the complete opposite. However, sometimes this can be very hard as you just really do stand out! Especially now in the winter time as most people tend to stick to dark colours such as black and navy. I don't really wear any dark colours as I love to stick to whites, greys and pinks. As these colours are not the traditional winter colours people tend to stare a lot as it's out of their norm.
Wearing things or colours that aren't consider the norm in that season can sometimes make you stand out to others and makes them judgmental of your outfit. Some think you are simply overdress, others say you are trying to get attention from boys and some may even say you look stuck up and posh. However, this is completely untrue (especially in my case). I can't go ahead and say for a fact that no girl dresses for attention from boys because a few people do but in most cases girls actually dress to impress their girl friends and family members more. Many other people simply dress for themselves and don't care what others think.
For any boys out there reading this I'm sorry to say but girls don't really care what you think about their outfits. If you like them for who they are and not for what they look like then that's how you win them around, just saying....
Girls tend to find it hard to express themselves and show their unique style all the time as they are scared of not fitting in and standing out. Sometimes standing out can be a good thing though and you can use it to your advantage...
I think the main thing to take away from this post is to:
- Not judge others on their appearances
- Don't dress to impress
- Dress for yourself
- Wear what ever makes you feel happy and confident
- Act confident and no one will question you
